Friday Night Magic [FNM] - Every Friday in December!
4:30pm to Midnight

The first Booster Draft and the Standard are FNM (FridayNightMagic) events. In each FNM event, one of the current month's FNM Promo card is awarded to 1st place, 2nd place, and two other random participants. All of these events are described in more detail below. Note Friday Booster Drafts prizes are different than Monday Booster Drafts prizes. For DCI Rankings; the FNM are 8k Value events, any additional Booster Drafts will be 16k.

Magic: The Gathering Standard FNM
Starts at 6:30PM

Entry Fee: $5
Time: 4-5 Hours
Round Length: 50 Minutes
Attendance: 32 Player Maximum

Starting at 4:30pm we open registration for FNM Standard. The FNM Standard is a Swiss Round Standard Format Constructed tournament with a max attendance of 32 players. Entry fee is $5. Magic: The Gathering Booster Drafts
All Night!

Entry Fee: $15
Time: 90-180 minutes
Attendance: 8 Player Flights
Prizes: 1st Place = 5 Booster Packs - 2nd Place = 3 Booster Packs 3rd & 4th Place = 2 Booster Packs

Starting at 4:30pm we open registration for Booster Drafts. Booster Drafts are an 8-player single elimination event. Entry fee is $15. The first Booster Draft on Friday is a FNM Event. Prizes are Five (5) Booster Packs to 1st place, Three (3) Booster Packs to 2nd place, and Two (2) Booster Packs to both 3rd and 4th Place. We will run multiples of these events for every 8 players registered. Due to the time a draft takes, we unfortunately cannot start a draft on Friday after 9:00pm. Magic: The Gathering Commander (EDH) Free-For-All!
All Night!

Entry Fee: $5
Time: 30-90 minutes
Attendance: 4 Player Flights
Prizes: 1st Place = 3 Boosters - 2nd 3rd & 4th = 1 Booster

Starting at 5pm we open registration for Commander (EDH) Free For All. The participants play in one 4-Player multiplayer game. All decks should follow the deck construction rules of Commander, and no proxies may be included. We will run these in 4-player flights. As soon as we have 4 participants sign up, we begin the event and begin sign-ups for the next. The average 4-player Commander game will last 30-90 minutes. Due to the time a Commander Flight takes, we unfortunately cannot start one on Friday after 10:30pm. To find out more about Commander (EDH) go to www.mtgcommander.net

For each participant will we add $15 into a pool of In-Store Credit.  Go HERE for complete Prize Breakdown IN ADDITION if we have at least 16 participants we will give away an Arabian Nights "Bazaar of Baghdad" to 1st Place or if we have at least 32 participants we will award an Unlimited "Mox Emerald" to 1st Place and 2nd place will receive the "Bazaar of Baghdad".

At least 1 third-round bye at Grand Prix Providence is offered at each Trial, based on attendance: # of Participants 8-32 = 1 Bye ; 33-64 = 2 Byes ; 65-128 = 4 Byes

Jund, Trace, and Blightning Oh My

Well my good friends, I used to be a Jund hater.  It seems to pop up often and invariably do very well.  Since I rejoined Magic at M10, I didn't have Jund cards.  So I bought a box of Alara Reborn.  I snagged an Elspeth... (/cheer) but no Maelstrom Pulses (/boo).  And thus a deep, bitter hatred began to brew inside me.  Maelstrom pulse is very powerful.  First of all, it targets permanents.  That's right, any nonland permanent.  That includes those fancy pants oblivion rings, any creature, artifact,  enchantment, equipment...  And it is a black and green card, and one would normally only expect "target permanent" from a blue card.  Finally, It destroys all other permanents of the same name.  A board sweeper for 3 mana.  Epic.
