Millienia ago, the world suffered a great sundering. It is unclear the order of events, but a fantastical world full of high magic faced multiple disasters. The Divine Gods abandoned the world or perished. Sorcery and along with it, defiling magic was discovered, which soon fueled the Sorcerer-Kings' rise to immortality.

 

The Island of Blood Warhammer boxed game has everything you need to start playing Warhammer, containing two complete armies ready to assemble and put straight on the battlefield. Amongst the two armies you'll find all the troop types in Warhammer, with infantry, cavalry, monsters, heroes and wizards all represented. The Island of Blood offers a full, exciting Warhammer gaming experience as you and your opponent can delve into all the rules and tactics Warhammer has to offer.

Also included in the set is a full-colour rulebook that contains all the information you'll need to play games of Warhammer.

This boxed game contains: more than 70 finely-detailed Citadel miniatures, forming two plastic armies:

High Elves (a High Elf Prince on Griffon, a High Elf Mage, 10 High Elf Lothern Sea Guard, 10 High Elf Sword Masters of Hoeth and five Ellyrian Reavers)

Skaven (a Skaven Warlord, a Skaven Warlock Engineer, 40 Skaven Clanrats, a Skaven Master Moulder, two Skaven Rat Ogres, a Skaven Warpfire Thrower, and a Skaven Poisoned Wind Mortar).

All 74 models are exclusive to this box.

In addition to the models listed above, there's everything else you'll need to begin playing games of Warhammer, including: a pocket sized, 200-page full-colour Warhammer rulebook, a 32-page, full-colour 'Getting Started' booklet, 10 dice, two Artillery Dice, three templates, and two plastic range rulers.

Jund, Trace, and Blightning Oh My

Well my good friends, I used to be a Jund hater.  It seems to pop up often and invariably do very well.  Since I rejoined Magic at M10, I didn't have Jund cards.  So I bought a box of Alara Reborn.  I snagged an Elspeth... (/cheer) but no Maelstrom Pulses (/boo).  And thus a deep, bitter hatred began to brew inside me.  Maelstrom pulse is very powerful.  First of all, it targets permanents.  That's right, any nonland permanent.  That includes those fancy pants oblivion rings, any creature, artifact,  enchantment, equipment...  And it is a black and green card, and one would normally only expect "target permanent" from a blue card.  Finally, It destroys all other permanents of the same name.  A board sweeper for 3 mana.  Epic.
